New Year update on the 2024 Conquerors Paragolf Championships
Here’s hoping every one of you had a blessed Christmas and are all looking forward to a prosperous New Year!
- First on the agenda is a friendly reminder that the $100 deposit program for registration ended at midnight this past Sunday 12/31/2023. After that time, full registrations are required to secure a spot in the 2014 Conquerors Paragolf Championships on May 14th. As of today, we only have 29 spots open for this year’s event. If you’ve already booked your deposit, the balance due can be paid here: https://mqw.eds.temporary.site/.website_3a963ad1/product/fourth-annual-conquerors-paragolf-championships-2024-bal-registration/. Remember that all registrations need to be paid in full by 02/01/2024.
- Next, we are hoping that we can sign the final agreement with our host hotel facility in the next couple of weeks. All rooms at the pre-negotiated final rate will be on a first-come first-served basis. We have strived to lock up as many accessible rooms as we can but you need to reserve early if you need one. Once agreements are signed, we will send you a link to the dedicated webpage on which you can book your accommodations. Don’t forget that Airbnb and VRBO are cost-effective options if you don’t mind sharing with your friends. There are a ton of homes close to the golf course.
- For those of you who haven’t booked flights yet, we have been monitoring the airline websites and have found out that Southwest will be conducting a nationwide sale for airfares traveling the week of our event. As soon as we can determine that booking window we will immediately send out an email to everyone.
- The Player’s Appreciation event will be held at Orange Tree Golf Resort immediately after the first round on Tuesday 5/14. The awards dinner location will be announced in the next two weeks.
Another update will be forthcoming this next week. We’re looking forward to seeing you in May!! It’s going to be an awesome event!!
Our 2024 event is presented by the Dormie Network!!
G4D Tour revamps format at the most inclusive tour in Golf
The G4D (Golf for the Disabled) Tour has unveiled its eight-tournament 2023/24 schedule today, with a revamped format that introduces both Gross and Net tournaments, to ensure that golfers across a wider spectrum of disabilities can compete for glory.
Mike Browne (left) won the 2023 G4D Tour Season Finale at the DP World Tour Championship
The selection process for adaptive G4D golf tournaments just got better! Starting this season, we are using both the Gross and Net World Rankings for Golfers with a Disability (WR4GD) to select players. But that’s not all – we’ve also expanded the selection to include the top eight male and top two female players from each ranking. We believe that every talented golfer deserves a chance to showcase their skills. That’s why we’ve made sure that female golfers with disabilities are also represented in every event. Our upcoming schedule spans eight tournaments across five different countries, including the Magical Kenya Open, which will be our first-ever visit to Africa. Get ready to witness some of the best golfing talent in the world!
October 28 Conquerors Update
Hope this finds you well and working on your game!! This is the next update for the 2024 Conquerors Paragolf Championships that will be held on May 14-16, 2024 at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in warm and sunny Scottsdale, AZ. A couple of announcements and developments to bring you current:
- Since opening registrations 10 days ago, we have had an overwhelming amount of registration reservations so far. As of today, we have half the field committed. We will be seriously thinking about raising the registration limit in order to accommodate everyone who wishes to participate.
- It appears that our host hotel facilities will be two properties this year, both located in close proximity to the golf course. We are working on the room block details so we can open room reservations in the next two weeks. We will post updates to social media and on our blog as details become available. We are trying to tie up as many ADA-compliant rooms as possible, reservations for which will be on a first come first served basis. If you require an accessible room, remember to reserve early!! Also, if you are so inclined, VRBO and Airbnb have some excellent deals in the area around the course. If you don’t mind sharing a house, there are some excellent deals on 2-4 bedroom homes.
- Questions have been asked about the prospects for “senior” divisions for the tournament. This will be entirely predicated on the registrations and whether we get at least three seniors in a particular division. As we move forward we will try to keep everyone posted on the situation.
- For our tournament this year, WR4GD Impairment categories will be used. NO SELF CLASSIFYING. You must have a WR4GD access pass and an official handicap from your country’s governing body (i.e. USGA, Golf Canada, etc) in order to compete.
- There will be a “grab and go” breakfast or lunch each day of the tournament. A player’s appreciation event will be held after the first round at Orange Tree Resort. More details and menus are forthcoming.
- We are planning a very special and unique awards banquet for this year’s event. This will be a “semi-formal” event, so we ask that everyone dress appropriately.
- In order to reduce the amount of stuff you need to pack home, this year we are moving to a redeemable certificate with which you can go online after you get home and acquire all “wearables” that will be provided each competitor and have them sent directly to your home.
- We have already started the planning for an adaptive golf clinic on March 31 at Orange Tree. Ping will be providing fitting services for those who are interested and will be assisting with the clinic. In addition, two of the golf staff at Orange Tree are certified adaptive instructors and will be assisting us as well. We should have a military/VGA update on this subject in the next newsletter.
- Registration procedure: Just want to make it clear so everyone understands, that the $100 deposit on registration secures your place in the tournament. The balance of the registration fee is not due until after the first of the year. We will make sure that full balance-due invoices are sent out to everyone with a due date of 1/15/24. Going into the holiday season, we’re trying to make this event as affordable as we can for everyone.
Stay tuned to our blog at https://www.tiu4all.org for constantly updated information. We will be sending another update two weeks from this weekend. Thank you and we’re looking forward to seeing you at the tournament, and remember that as entries will be limited for this event, get on board as soon as you can.

Tournament Rules for the 2023 Conquerors Paragolf Championships
All scores should be entered into the Golf Status app by the playing partner.
Grand Champions: Should there be a tie for first place, an outright winner will be determined by a three hole aggregate (low net) score on holes 16, 17, and 18.. If still tied after those holes then further sudden death holes may also be played until a winner emerges.
Individual Classifications: A scorecard count back compares scores hole by hole starting with 17, then 16, etc. The first player with a lower net score is declared the winner.
USGA RULES GOVERN ALL PLAY EXCEPT WHERE MODIFIED BY THESE FOLLOWING LOCAL RULES:
• When a player’s ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed under local rule E-5 for a PENALTY OF TWO STROKES. The player may not use this option if the player has played a provisional ball or as an option to take relief for the original ball that is known or virtually certain to have come to rest in a penalty area.
Model Local Rule E-5 states: “This option allows the player to drop in a large area between the point where the ball is estimated to have come to rest or gone out of bounds and the edge of the fairway of the hole being played that is not nearer the hole.
“The player gets two penalty strokes when using this relief option. This means that the relief is comparable to what could have been achieved if the player had taken stroke-and-distance relief.”
• OB defined by white stakes
• Free relief from the driving range fence and netting behind 9 green.
• The course-side edge of the homeowner’s wall on the left of 3 defines the OB.
• Split rail fencing defines OB on the following holes: 1, 3, 4, 8, 16, 17, left and right of 1 fairway, left of 2 fairway, left of 6 tee, left of 7 fairway and left of 12 fairway.
• The Split rail fencing left of 10 green defines a red penalty area. Relief for this penalty area must be taken in the drop zone with a one stroke penalty.
• Drop Area for holes 10 & 18 are the Red Teeing grounds, unless otherwise marked.
• The wash crossing hole 3 is a penalty area. The edge of the penalty area is as marked or defined by its natural boundary. All other washes that cross holes on 6, 11, 13, 14 & 17 are part of the general area.
• All roads and paths are considered Obstructions.
• Shots hitting telephone wires must be replayed.
• Exposed tree roots that extend into the fairway will be marked and designated as “ground under repair”.
• Seated Golfers Only: Sand traps marked with a red flag will be regarded as “ground under repair” due to the lack of safe ingress or egress . You may drop within two clubs from the edge of the bunker from the point the ball entered the bunker and incur no penalty.
