Adaptive golf can be a transformative experience for people with disabilities.
Adaptive golf can be a transformative experience for people with disabilities, offering physical, psychological, and social benefits. Here’s how it can be a game-changer:
1. Physical Rehabilitation and Fitness: Adaptive golf provides a low-impact form of exercise that helps improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. The repetitive swinging motion strengthens the core and upper body, which can be particularly beneficial for individuals with physical disabilities. It also helps with motor skills and can be part of a broader rehabilitation program.
2. Mental and Emotional Well-being: Golf requires focus, strategy, and patience, offering a mental challenge that can be rewarding. For many disabled individuals, the opportunity to participate in a sport fosters a sense of accomplishment, boosts self-esteem, and reduces feelings of isolation or depression.
3. Social Inclusion and Community: Adaptive golf creates opportunities for social interaction, helping individuals build friendships and integrate into their communities. Playing on a team or with a group fosters camaraderie, reducing feelings of loneliness and promoting a sense of belonging.
4. Accessibility and Independence: With adaptive equipment and modified rules, golf becomes accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. Specialized carts, one-handed clubs, and grip adaptations allow players to participate independently, empowering them to enjoy the sport on their own terms.
5. Life Skills and Personal Growth: The discipline and focus required in golf can translate into life skills such as goal setting, persistence, and time management. For veterans and others who may have lost confidence due to their disabilities, adaptive golf can be a powerful tool for rebuilding self-confidence and independence.
6. Therapeutic Environment: The serene, natural settings of golf courses can be therapeutic, offering a peaceful environment that contrasts with the challenges many disabled individuals face in daily life. The outdoor setting promotes relaxation and mental clarity, contributing to overall well-being.
Adaptive golf isn’t just a sport; it’s a pathway to improved health, well-being, and a more fulfilling life for people with disabilities.

USAGA classifications as of 3/1/24 will determine classifications for this event. While the USGA classifications are improving, we don’t feel they adequately cover the field at this time. Senior low net will be a 50+ age group. Winners of Men/Women overall and Senior Low Net are not eligible for individual classification awards. Individual classification awards will be based on low gross (adjusted). The USGA Rules of Golf will be strictly adhered to in all instances, along with imposed local exceptions, which will be announced before the tournament. The maximum score for each hole is double par. Players are asked to pick up and record the double par as total strokes on a hole. Tee positions are based on rating/slope, not yardages. This is the most equitable way of setting tee positions for each classification. Considerations for daily F&B credits Each player will be given three redeemable $10 certificates for meals. Three total will be given to each participant, and they may be used on any tournament day. These certificates can be used at any F&B facility at OrangeTree, including the beverage carts. They can NOT be used at the awards banquet. Certificates have no cash value, and no change will be made for redemptions. Local course rules and exceptions will be submitted after this coming week. |

Overcoming challenges and changing lives
Golf is often viewed as a leisure activity, a game of skill and focus that serves as an escape from life’s challenges. For Jon Moore and the community at Tee It Up 4 All (TIU4ALL), it’s much more—it’s a game-changing vehicle for empowerment, physical therapy, and mental well-being.
A Personal Journey Becomes a Game-Changing Mission
The International field is growing every day!
TIU4ALL is proud to announce that the Conqueror’s entries from international players are at an all-time high. As of 3/15, we have twelve players from outside the US entered into the field, highlighted by our first player from Pakistan, Mujeeb Khan, and 8 players from Canada. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you coming to Scottsdale in May. Welcome!!
New Year update on the 2024 Conquerors Paragolf Championships
Here’s hoping every one of you had a blessed Christmas and are all looking forward to a prosperous New Year!
- First on the agenda is a friendly reminder that the $100 deposit program for registration ended at midnight this past Sunday 12/31/2023. After that time, full registrations are required to secure a spot in the 2014 Conquerors Paragolf Championships on May 14th. As of today, we only have 29 spots open for this year’s event. If you’ve already booked your deposit, the balance due can be paid here: https://mqw.eds.temporary.site/.website_3a963ad1/product/fourth-annual-conquerors-paragolf-championships-2024-bal-registration/. Remember that all registrations need to be paid in full by 02/01/2024.
- Next, we are hoping that we can sign the final agreement with our host hotel facility in the next couple of weeks. All rooms at the pre-negotiated final rate will be on a first-come first-served basis. We have strived to lock up as many accessible rooms as we can but you need to reserve early if you need one. Once agreements are signed, we will send you a link to the dedicated webpage on which you can book your accommodations. Don’t forget that Airbnb and VRBO are cost-effective options if you don’t mind sharing with your friends. There are a ton of homes close to the golf course.
- For those of you who haven’t booked flights yet, we have been monitoring the airline websites and have found out that Southwest will be conducting a nationwide sale for airfares traveling the week of our event. As soon as we can determine that booking window we will immediately send out an email to everyone.
- The Player’s Appreciation event will be held at Orange Tree Golf Resort immediately after the first round on Tuesday 5/14. The awards dinner location will be announced in the next two weeks.
Another update will be forthcoming this next week. We’re looking forward to seeing you in May!! It’s going to be an awesome event!!
Our 2024 event is presented by the Dormie Network!!
