Hotel rooms, rental cars, scoring app, tee positions, sponsors…….
Just three short weeks until the start of this tremendous event!!! While registrations have been brisk, there are still a few spots open, so don’t wait! You can register for the final few spots here. Registrations will officially close on 3/25/2023.
First, our reserved room block at the Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort has expired. If you haven’t reserved your room yet, you can explore other options in the area by using Kayak, Trivago, Google, and other hotel booking aggregators. This means that any available rooms Westward Look have been released to the general public. Any reservations after today’s date are subject to availability and will be at the prevailing room rates. If you’re late to the party, there are other properties in relatively close proximity to Forty Niner CC, such as the Extended Stays, Embassy Suites, Choice Hotel Suites and others. We suggest you use a hotel booking site such as Trivago, Kayak, or Goggle Travel for the broadest range of choices.
Don’t forget that rental cars are traditionally in short supply during this time of year. All the major brands such as Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, and Budget are already starting to rise in price due to the proximity to the Easter holidays. Don’t forget the alternative brands or ride-sharing as an alternative mode of transportation.
Keep in mind that the first round of the Conquerors will be a 8:30 am shotgun start to accommodate our Sponsors/Associates division (playing round one only). Rounds two and three will be 10 minute tee times off of one and ten starting at 9:30 am each day with pairings based on total scores as of the previous day.
Note that all scoring for the tournament will be done with Golf Status, which can be downloaded from your phone’s App Store (available for both iOS and Android) by searching for “Golf Status”. There will be a link within the program with which you can share with family, friends, and social media that will update your standings in real time. In addition we are doing away with physical score cards and scoring sheets. Scores will be kept on your smart devices and signed/attested on the same. Score sheets will be live feeds to the televisions in the clubhouse, proshop, and the outdoor ramada at the club. Finally, all tee times, updates, and messages will be provided through Golf Status via a pushed SMS message or email to your smart device. You will be able to access your standings and upcoming tee times on the GolfStatus app (upcoming tee times will be available within two hours of the completion of the last round).
Seated Golfers: It is imperative that if you are shipping your cart to Tucson, that it arrive no later than two days prior to the tournament (by March 31st). Charging space will be provided by our golf host, Forty Niner CC. Carts will need to be return shipped no later than April 7th. As of today’s date, we have no more SoloRiders or Paragolfers available. We do have two Cheeta single rider carts available on a first come first served basis.
Local and tournament rules/exceptions: One week prior to the tournament, we will publish the tournament exceptions as they pertain to seated golfers and sand traps, out-of-bounds exceptions/rules, as well as local rules.
