Player registration for the The Conquistador will include a practice round (18 holes either Sunday or Monday), three tournament rounds (54 holes starting Tuesday), the welcome reception (informal and includes a traditional UArizona tailgate BBQ), the awards (The Awards will be held immediately after the final round at the golf clubhouse area; further info forthcoming), local transportation to and from Sewailo and our banquet venue. Our host facility this year will be Sewailo Golf Club located at Casino del Sol in SW Tucson. At the first day of the tournament , we will be handing out player “swag bags” with some very unique and bespoke items.
For sponsors, your sponsorship of this event is going to go a long way in not only making this a major competition for some of the best adaptive golfers on the planet, but more importantly, we are on our way in making Tucson and all of Arizona, the epicenter of adaptive golf in the nation.
We’re looking forward to everyone’s participation to make this the “major” it is destined to be and unlike any other event in adaptive golf.
Here’s our schedule in date order…..
- Monday 4/19 – Player Practice Rounds (Players are responsible for booking tee times with Pro Shop at least two weeks in advance, subject to availability) – Sewailo Golf Club
- Tuesday 4/20 – First Round – Standard Shotgun, 12:30 pm start time – Sewailo Golf Club; free night
- Tuesday 4/20 – Player Tailgate BBQ Reception (Trak Tucson) 6pm – 9pm
- Wednesday 4/21 – Second Round – Standard Shotgun, 8:00am start time – Sewailo Golf Club; free night
- Thursday 4/22 – Final Round – Modified Shotgun with the top 12 players teeing off #1 and balance of field situated on tees 3-17. 8:00 am start time with awards immediately after the round.. – Sewailo Golf Club
Our host hospitality facilities for this year’s tournament will be the Casino del Sol (confirmed rates and room block now closed) and the Hilton Doubletree Hotel at Tucson Airport (10 minutes from Casino del Sol). We have reserved room blocks at both facilities. All ADA rooms are subject to prior reservations and availability. It is the player’s responsibility to book reservations at our preferred room rates by using the links below:

Note to all golfers: This has been submitted as a WR4GD Premier and Challenge Event but we have not received approval from EDGA as of yet. We will be submitting all scores to the USAGA for USAGR purposes. Classifications will abide by USAGR standards and will be noted accordingly on this site. We will be using a Golf Status mobile scoring platform instead of physical scorecards and will have live scoring updates in real time online, as well as your mobile devices. This free iOS and Android mobile app can be downloaded for free from your respective App Store.
Welcome Reception Menu Announced
Firetruck Brewery just finalized the menu for the Welcome Reception, so here you go. I guarantee this will be BOMB!!!
Baked Truffle Mac and cheese- creamy white “moltinero al tartufo” cheese sauce. A white cheese injected with black truffle. All topped with a black truffle crisp topping.
Tri tip- choice black angus tri tip rubbed in our secret house blend of spices and slow smoked using local mesquite
Pork- pork butt smoked slow and low for 16 hours until shredded to perfection. Then tossed in our signature “carnitas” blend of spices including ground chipotle, white pepper, smoked Hungarian paprika as well as a few other key spices
Chicken- all natural chicken breast slow cooked in our house blend of spices accompanied with notes of citrus. All white meat shredded chicken.
Beans- house made Sonoran style beans. True to the name and packed full of authentic Sonoran spices and flavors. Made using fresh fire roasted vegetables and roasted garlic alongside the robust spices native our desert region
Slaw- classic style house made coleslaw. Creamy and savory dressing made in and tossed with fresh crisp shredded cabbage, carrots, and purple cabbage
Rolls- locally sourced fresh baked broioche style Hawaiian rolls.
Bbq sauce is house made and cold smoked for no less than 2 hours giving it a thick and natural smoke flavor without overpowering or charring any of the spices or sugars used.
Salad- fresh spring mix, tomatoes, red onions, carrots accompanied with our house made ranch dressing.
